Sarah Smith MP has joined the APPG for Fatherhood, following the recent additions of Alex Davies-Jones MP, Rachael Maskell MP and Baroness Penn. Sarah will bring much to the Group, having consistently campaigned for improved paternity leave since she was elected in 2024.
During the Government’s Parental Leave and Pay Review, she called on the Government to address the challenges working fathers face when taking time off work, and also highlighted the structural and cultural barriers that currently limit access. In addition, Sarah has worked directly with Dad Shift and previously met with fathers in Haslingden to better comprehend and scrutinise the current paternity leave provisions.
We are delighted to welcome Sarah to the APPG and look forward to the valuable insight she will bring as the APPG for Fatherhood’s membership continues to grow.
